Cutigliano - history

The origins of Cutigliano are uncertain, although historians and literature professors who did research and confirm that the history facts are a mystery.

According to some the territory of Cutigliano belonged to the Liguri; others sustain that it belonged to the Etruscans. No matter where the story leads, it is still a beautiful city to visit.

Doganaccia (1547/1650 mt s.l.m.)

The town situated on the remains of an ancient customhouse, placed between “il Ducato” of Modena and the Granducato of Toscana.

The snow tracks that unwind gracefully are a pleasure to ski, stroked by the sun throughout the day, linked to the “capital of the province” by a round road that winds through a beech wood tree forest and easily accessible.

You can also take the cableway up or down the mountain.

Situated on the same side as the Province capital, 7 km from the Doganaccia ski camps, also a summer holiday place, and the starting point for many excursions.
