The name
Fiumalbo derives from the ancient times indicating
the centre of two rivers. The population today is
most certainly bigger but the characteristics remain
the same. Graced with architectural cathedrals and
oratories, the recently renovated fortress is the
highest point of the town and quite visible from the
street.
Sunday
morning theirs a Flea market that runs through the
internal streets of the town.
Going up
towards Monte Cimone that towers over the town of
Fiumalbo you reach the area of Doccia del Cimone,
whilst walking this stretch of road alongside, still
visible you will see small houses, which over time
were renovated keeping its original form.
The Chapel
dedicated to the Madonna of the snow, built in 1908,
still worshiped today with a procession and a Mass
commemoration 5 August of every year.
During the
journey up admire the wonderful fauna and flora like
the family of marmots that live in the valley of
stones on the slope of the mountain
Not far from
the piazza, you can find a Restaurant and take
refuge in a celt hut.
