Abetone ski hills

The ski district of Abetone includes almost 50 km of slopes, for a total of 30 runs, served by 22 ski lifts. Ski schools and camps and the possibility of renting sporting equipment make up an area particularly adapted to those at an amateur ski level, as well as offering a stimulating daring runs to those of a more expert level. A shuttle is available from our Hotel to the Ski lift area.

The Doganaccia di Cutigliano is easy to reach thanks to the new cable car that reaches an altitude of 1530 meters from Cutigliano in about 6 minutes, or by car using the Cutigliano – Doganaccia road.

The Doganaccia area extends across nearly 10 Km of equipped ski runs with programmed snow systems that, with the correct climate conditions, allow you to ski through Easter and beyond.

The ski slopes are ideal for the skier at any level, the favourable exposure allows the passing of beautiful days protected from the icy winds. It’s a paradise for children for their first ski experiences. The Snow-Tubing run is very fun which develops along side the School Range and is served by a tarpaulin which helps the climb up with inner-tubes.

The Italian Ski School, DOGANACCIA 2000 organizes group and individual lessons for every level in order to better face the Doganaccia area’s slopes.

Cross Country Skiing

It’s possible to cross country ski in Abetone, in Doganaccia and in Pian di Novello.
Doganaccia has two paths, one of 2.3 Km around the San Gualberto Lake, the other at an altitude of 3,2 Km at Croce Arcana.
The cross country path in Abetone "Gino Seghi", is a course protected from the winds and immersed in the woods, when everything is passable, it reaches 18 km.
In Pian di Novello is the "Orto di Giovannino" course offering a total of 15km of a medium difficulty level.
The courses always taken care of and served by renting centers and ski schools, ideal for spending a day in close contact with untouched nature.

Snow shoe Excursions

Snow shoes or ciaspole in the past few years have had an enormous success. On our mountains among the centuries-old woods and the splendid frozen lakes here are many routes passable with snow shoes, even some long passages along the ridges give themselves to this sport - with the required caution and the knowledge of the territory.

Winter Mountain Climbing

The surrounding mountains are frequented even by alpine ski lovers. Besides the normal stops inside the usable areas for the off run there are courses especially for alpine skiing. Among the most used itineraries we find Croce Arcana/Monte Cornaccio, Sestaione/Foce di Campolino, Alpe 3Potenze/Lago Nero, Via del Duca/Foce al Giovo, Monte Rondinaio/Lago Santo, Salita al Monte Giovo and downhill and still others. The paths are usable accompanied by an alpine guide.
